I read the book called "Crispus Attucks", by James Neyland. It tells about his whole life as a slave, and then a runaway slave...

He was born in 1723 in Boston, Massachussetts. His father, Prince, was a slave, and his mother Nancy, was a Natick Indian. He grew up a slave, but when he was 27, Cripus ran away to become a whaler and a seamen., When "Cris" returned from whaling at the age of 47, the King was trying to rule the colonies and this upset the colonists. Leading a group of roudy protestors, Cris challenged the British troops to a fight w/o their guns. Immediately, the Troops fired upon the protesters, killing Cris and 4 others.

Crispus Attucks was said to be the first person killed in the revolutionary war.

He had a monument dedicted to him in 1888 in the Boston Common.
